Published December 14, 2009 21-24 months , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentHere are pics of the exhibit of Sendak at the Jewish museum. They spent all the time trying to find all the moons that were drawn in every painting. Afterwards we went to the Yerbabuena gardens. Iphone pictures.

It has been raining lately, and at the las consigment sale (parents of twins get together and sell children stuff that they don’t need anymore) we bought two pair of rain boots. But the size was 7 and not 6 which is what they are. So today we went to use them. First we went to the Conservatory of Flowers where they have installed a little train that goes around a mini San Francisco. They loved it. Then we went to look for puddles around the park. They had a terrific time, although they couldn’t walk so well with the boots going higher than their knees. We only had the ipone to take pictures, so the quality is not so good.
Zoo with the playgroup
Published November 18, 2009 18-21 months , fotos , outings/sortides , videos Leave a CommentWe have recently joined a playgroup of other moms in the neighborhood that have children the same age as F and T. Although I’ve seen them only twice so far, I can tell we are going to have a really good time. This week we went to the zoo, and a side from everyone being terrified about the HUGE goats, we had a great time. The owls and the steam train were a big hit. Something amazing happened, we were able to sit ALL the children together to take a picture, I would have never thought that was possible. Click here to see all the pictures. Also the video shows the enthusiasm the boys have with the word Owl, I guess they need to say it loud. The same happens with the word Airplane: AAAAA-irplane!!!

The boys don’t eat a lot of things, but pancakes is the one thing that they will always eat (guess what, waffles is the other thing). Recently they are waking up really early… 6 o’clock is great for us, so don’t be surprised at the looks of Owen and the boys in this pictures… You can see them enjoying dad’s whole weat blueberries pancakes (they love helping dad making them too!). More butter please!

Published September 21, 2009 15-18 months , family , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentWe are back from Barcelona. We have been there for 2 weeks and Fin and Teo have walked around the Gothic neigborhood, seen Castellers (human towers), gotten into the Mediterranean sea, celebrated the National Catalan day, celebrated their 18 month birthday, seen family and friends… they seem to be eating much better! It took a week to adjust to the new schedule but it was great to see everyone and all the nice places in Barcelona. We got to dance a tiny bit too! Here are some pics

Brian & Sunshine wedding
Published August 26, 2009 15-18 months , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentWe went to Brian & Sunshine’s wedding last saturday in Walnut Creek. It was a beautiful day and the boys enjoyed running around, chasing the ducks, smelling the flower and dancing around. Here are some pictures from Ana Marie and Nora.
Academy of Sciences with Moriah
Published August 7, 2009 15-18 months , fotos , friends , outings/sortides Leave a CommentWe finally made it! This morning we went to the Academy of Sciences with Moriah and her boys. As expected, Teo and Fin’s favorite part was the fishes. This time we visited the toddler room, which was a hit as well. Here are some pics. The video is of Teo trying to catch the very fast fishes. You can also see him walking in the cast, not too bad! On monday we will go to the doctor and if we are lucky the cast will be gone…

Published August 3, 2009 15-18 months , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentFinally I had some time to download the pictures. Sorry I didn’t take very many pictures of the family… There’s a lot of pictures of the house, some of them blury or dark, but I wanted to have them as a memory for everyone. Some of the pictures were taken by Rick, Liam and Jasper. Enjoy!

These past few days we have been in Wipigaki, Winsconsin, where the boys have enjoyed being all day outside, splashing in the water at the lake, playing with other babies and kids, playing around the fire… It’s been great. The best thing it’s been that the boys have been able to be around their grandparents (Owen’s side) for a bunch of days. Noni and Bubbles have been great taking them around, which really gives us a break from time to time. We’ve been able to have a meal until the desert, visca! Julia and Chloe (2 girls from the camp) have been playing also with them a lot, they were so happy every time they saw them
Fin and Teo have a tan for the first time, and a few mosquito bites on their bodies, nothing bad. Next year we go to Wipi they will be talking, wow…
Ha estat molt be. L’any que ve quan hi tornem ja parlaran, uau…

Now that they are “big boys” they have a “big boy” table and chairs. Yesterday we were drawing with crayons, we have two little artists!
Every time we clean at home (which feels like it’s constantly), the boys want to take the broom from us and play, so I bought a set of cleaning tools child size and it was a success!

They LOVE books. They are asking us to read them all the time. They don’t last very long listening to it, but that’s fine…;-)

Ahir vam anar al Zoo. Va ser la primera vegada que els nens van veure ovelles i cabres… estaven una mica cansats perque no havien fet migdiada i estan encostipats, pero a part d’aixo ens ho vam passar molt be.
Yesterday we went to the Zoo. It was the first time that the boys saw goats and sheeps… they were a little tired because they hadn’t had a nap and they had a cold, but a side from that we had a great time.

Finian has been trying to get to the flour can for a long time… well… he finally did it!

Yesterday we celebrated Sant Jordi’s day going to the library and getting books for everyone. Now they are starting to show more interest in books and sometimes they ask us to read them a story. Owen didn’t gave a rose (that is the tradition) but gave me beautiful flowers from our garden.
Happy Sant Jordi day!!!

Here is some info from Wikipedia about Sant Jordi day: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_George%27s_Day
Catalonia
La Diada de Sant Jordi, also known as el dia de la rosa (The Day of the Rose) or el dia del llibre (The Day of the Book) is a Catalan holiday celebrated on April 23 similar to St. Valentine’s Day with some unique twists that show the ancient practice of this day. The main event is the exchange of gifts between sweethearts, loved ones and respected ones. Historically, men gave women roses, and women gave men a book to celebrate the occasion—”a rose for love and a book forever.” In modern times, the mutual exchange of books is customary. Roses have been associated with this day since medieval times, but the giving of books is a more recent tradition. In 1923, a bookseller started to promote the holiday as a way to honour the nearly simultaneous deaths of Miguel Cervantes and William Shakespeare on April 23, 1616. Barcelona is the publishing capital in both Catalan and Spanish and this heady one-two punch of love and literacy was quickly adopted.
On Barcelona’s most visited street, La Rambla, and all over Catalonia, thousands of stands of roses and makeshift bookstalls are hastily set up for the occasion. By the end of the day, some four million roses and 800,000 books would have been purchased in the name of love. You will be hard-pressed to find a woman without a rose in hand, and half of the total yearly book sales in Catalonia take place on this occasion.
The sardana, the national dance of Catalonia, will be performed throughout the day in the Plaça Sant Jaume. And many book stores and cafes host readings by noted authors (look out for 24-hour marathon readings of Cervantes’ “Don Quixote“). And there will be a variety of street performers and musicians on hand to add a romantic ambience to nearly every public square and plaza.
Additionally, April 23 is one day of the year when the Palau de la Generalitat, Barcelona’s principal government building, is open to the public. Inside this Gothic architectural masterpiece you’ll see huge displays of roses created to honour Saint George.
Catalonia has exported this tradition of the book and the rose to the rest of the world. In 1995, the UNESCO adopted April 23 as World Book and Copyright Day.
Moriah gave the boys the best pants, hand made pants! And on top of that the presents came with a catalan note, saying Moltes Felicitats! what a present! Here is a picture of them wearing them this morning.
THANKS MORIAH!!!
GRACIES MORIAH!!!
La setmana passada vam anar a l’Academy of Sciences aqui a San FRancisco.
Last week we went to the new Acadamy of Sciences in San Francisco. The boys favorite section was the fishes and jelly fish. The mobile that their grandparents gave them is beatiful, but to see the fishes in reality… that was something! Uncle Rob and Daidie helped me out with Fin and Teo carrying them around the museum, thanks so much!!!

The boys wake up every morning between 6am and 7am. At that time they are VERY active, oppositte than me, my eyes are trying to stay open after a night of several feedings (yes, still). We usually stay in the kitchen so I can eat my breakfast and clean up a little. They like to “help” me out puting the dishes in the dishwasher and piling up the diapers (cloth). It is definetively fun to watch them playing with it all. Today they opened a can of polenta and it was all over the floor, sandbox in the kitchen!

First week out of the belly

First year out into the world!
A year from now, Owen and I took this pictures at home to keep track how the belly was growing. Little we knew that 2 hours later my waters would broke…

Finian is a little weird…he is not walking yet, but he does something between crawling and walking… and sometimes we see him doing some yoga/capoeira/eric fenn style postures, it might be that he has seen his father stretching around the house.

Frankie weekend-SF
Published February 14, 2009 9-12 months , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentToday we have been at the Frankie weekend here in SF. It’s been really fun, and the boys have been really good! Daidie, has been taking care of them while we were teaching and they’ve had tons of attention, everyone has been playing with them. Lucky them (and us), they’ve had the priviledge to have a picture taken with the one and only Frankie Manning!

M’he adonat que no he posat cap foto del Fin i el Teo dormint, i estan maquissims quan dormen…
I realized I hadn’t put any picture of Fin and Teo sleeping, and they look adorable when they sleep…

He penjat un video del Teo i el Finian al gronxador. Els encanta…
I have posted a video of Teo and Fin at the swing. They love it…

Yes, we had the incredible privilege to have Josh Bers visited the boys a few months ago for a couple of hours. At the time I couldn’t post any pictures, so I am posting them now. The boys loved the presents, a little lion and a little dog. Josh showed off his ability of holding and passing around babies, you can tell he is a father of 3… Sorry Josh for posting this pictures so late, now everyone can see your “ugly mug” (as you describe it

Yesterday we went to the de Young Museum to see the Maya Lin exhibit. Really nice… Check out her website… beautiful… http://www.mayalin.com/
Afterwards we went to the park, so here are some pictures.

Here is the one actually responsible for the bites on Teo’s legs… Before we had the babies, before we even were expecting babies, Julie gave us this awsome shark that now turns out to be biting Teo’s legs…so… Julie Solomon IS the one responsible for the marks!!!
Yesterday we went with Noni to the park (Golden Gate) and made some soap bubbles for the first time with F&T. They were looking at them pretty stranged, they seemed to enjoy it.
Milestone: Ens posem drets/Standing up
Lately I haven’t been able to write because the boys haven’t been sleeping at night and we are like zombies during the day… But tha latest news are that F & T can stand up by themselves grabing onto a chair or box!
F&T are fascinated by the rumba. Until now they have been looking at it while it’s working, but now that they are more mobile, they follow it! It is really fun to look at them try it to figure it all out
You will see in the video the first “real” crawling” of Finian.

Noe Valley Harvest Festival
Published November 3, 2008 6-9 months , fotos , outings/sortides Leave a CommentA few blocks from our house there was the Harvest Festival Noe Valley. It was cute, with lots of little tents with clothes, food, art and shops from the neighborhood. I ate a really good wrap from Lucey jucy. mmmm!!!
Stephanie came to visit the boys last weekend and she brought them this two little cute hats. Owen took a lot of pictures and they are so good that I created a folder for you to see them all (probably only my parents and Daidie will have the patience to see them all…) Here is a link to the album.

This is a carrier that we have been using that we love. It is really good for my back, it looks great, and you can put the baby in the front, back or side, at different ages. The babies can look around when we go for walks, and we can carry them while we prepare food or do other things. They are so comfy in it that it is our best tool to put them to sleep. Highly recommended!
Molt recomanat!
