Swedish breakfast, Rock’n Roll!

We visited our friends Catrine, Scott and Bianca to have a swedish breakfast (pancakes!). It was so much fun. Elliott brought a 6 feet inflatable elephant, and Calle taught the boys how to say ROCK’N ROLL!!! (with Calle’s jacket on) Now this is all what they say ALL the time, ROCK’N ROLL!!!

Sendak at the Jewish museum

Here are pics of the exhibit of Sendak at the Jewish museum. They spent all the time trying to find all the moons that were drawn in every painting. Afterwards we went to the Yerbabuena gardens. Iphone pictures.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/11/19/BA6114719B.DTL

It has been raining lately, and at the las consigment sale (parents of twins get together and sell children stuff that they don’t need anymore) we bought two pair of rain boots. But the size was 7 and not 6 which is what they are. So today we went to use them. First we went to the Conservatory of Flowers where they have installed a little train that goes around a mini San Francisco. They loved it. Then we went to look for puddles around the park. They had a terrific time, although they couldn’t walk so well with the boots going higher than their knees. We only had the ipone to take pictures, so the quality is not so good.

Zoo with the playgroup

We have recently joined a playgroup of other moms in the neighborhood that have children the same age as F and T. Although I’ve seen them only twice so far, I can tell we are going to have a really good time. This week we went to the zoo, and a side from everyone being terrified about the HUGE goats, we had a great time. The owls and the steam train were a big hit. Something amazing happened, we were able to sit ALL the children together to take a picture, I would have never thought that was possible. Click here to see all the pictures. Also the video shows the enthusiasm the boys have with the word Owl, I guess they need to say it loud. The same happens with the word Airplane: AAAAA-irplane!!!

Lake Anza

We recently went to Lake Anza up in Berkeley and the boys almost got into the water completely. Maybe next time… It is a nice place because you are surrounded by nature in a beautiful lake, there are no (scary) waves and there is a sand beach for the boys to play. We definitively have to go back. Oh, the few pictures we took are all blurry because Owen changed the settings to Macro… thanks Owen….

Barcelona

We are back from Barcelona. We have been there for 2 weeks and Fin and Teo have walked around the Gothic neigborhood, seen Castellers (human towers), gotten into the Mediterranean sea, celebrated the National Catalan day, celebrated their 18 month birthday, seen family and friends… they seem to be eating much better! It took a week to adjust to the new schedule but it was great to see everyone and all the nice places in Barcelona. We got to dance a tiny bit too! Here are some pics

Brian & Sunshine wedding

We went to Brian & Sunshine’s wedding last saturday in Walnut Creek. It was a beautiful day and the boys enjoyed running around, chasing the ducks, smelling the flower and dancing around. Here are some pictures from Ana Marie and Nora.

Academy of Sciences with Moriah

We finally made it! This morning we went to the Academy of Sciences with Moriah and her boys. As expected, Teo and Fin’s favorite part was the fishes. This time we visited the toddler room, which was a hit as well. Here are some pics. The video is of Teo trying to catch the very fast fishes. You can also see him walking in the cast, not too bad! On monday we will go to the doctor and if we are lucky the cast will be gone…

Pictures Forest Lodge

Finally I had some time to download the pictures. Sorry I didn’t take very many pictures of the family… There’s a lot of pictures of the house, some of them blury or dark, but I wanted to have them as a memory for everyone. Some of the pictures were taken by Rick, Liam and Jasper. Enjoy!

De Young Museum with Moriah, Matisse and Soren

Moriah and I had the brilliant idea of going to the Academy of Sciences the day of the month that is free… There was a line of 2 hours at 9.30 am!!! So we decided to go to the De Young instead. The favorite part for the boys was the sculpture garden, specially the apples which had some rain water on the top that they could play with. Moriah and I will try to keep getting together and take the boys to museums and interesting places often, next: Academy of Sciences…

Wipigaki

These past few days we have been in Wipigaki, Winsconsin, where the boys have enjoyed being all day outside, splashing in the water at the lake, playing with other babies and kids, playing around the fire… It’s been great. The best thing it’s been that the boys have been able to be around their grandparents (Owen’s side) for a bunch of days. Noni and Bubbles have been great taking them around, which really gives us a break from time to time. We’ve been able to have a meal until the desert, visca! Julia and Chloe (2 girls from the camp) have been playing also with them a lot, they were so happy every time they saw them ;-) Fin and Teo have a tan for the first time, and a few mosquito bites on their bodies, nothing bad. Next year we go to Wipi they will be talking, wow…

Ha estat molt be. L’any que ve quan hi tornem ja parlaran, uau…

Wipigaki 2009

Ahir vam anar al Zoo. Va ser la primera vegada que els nens van veure ovelles i cabres… estaven una mica cansats perque no havien fet migdiada i estan encostipats, pero a part d’aixo ens ho vam passar molt be.

Yesterday we went to the Zoo. It was the first time that the boys saw goats and sheeps… they were a little tired because they hadn’t had a nap and they had a cold, but a side from that we had a great time.

Academy of Sciences

La setmana passada vam anar a l’Academy of Sciences aqui a San FRancisco.

Last week we went to the new Acadamy of Sciences in San Francisco. The boys favorite section was the fishes and jelly fish. The mobile that their grandparents gave them is beatiful, but to see the fishes in reality… that was something! Uncle Rob and Daidie helped me out with Fin and Teo carrying them around the museum, thanks so much!!!

Frankie weekend-SF

Today we have been at the Frankie weekend here in SF. It’s been really fun, and the boys have been really good! Daidie, has been taking care of them while we were teaching and they’ve had tons of attention, everyone has been playing with them. Lucky them (and us), they’ve had the priviledge to have a picture taken with the one and only Frankie Manning!

Yesterday we went to the de Young Museum to see the Maya Lin exhibit. Really nice… Check out her website… beautiful… http://www.mayalin.com/

Afterwards we went to the park, so here are some pictures.

Molt maco… Mireu la seva pagina web…maquissima http://www.mayalin.com/

Bubbles with Noni

Yesterday we went with Noni to the park (Golden Gate) and made some soap bubbles for the first time with F&T. They were looking at them pretty stranged, they seemed to enjoy it.

Noe Valley Harvest Festival

A few blocks from our house there was the Harvest Festival Noe Valley. It was cute, with lots of little tents with clothes, food, art and shops from the neighborhood. I ate a really good wrap from Lucey jucy. mmmm!!!

Last weekend we went to see the race that Redbull organized of soap boxes made by people from here SF. It was held at the Dolores Park, very close to our house and there were 75,000 people! I’ve posted a few pictures we took and a video I found on youtube.

Noe Valley Farmers Market

2 wekends ago went to the little farmers market in Noe Valley. The boys usually fall asleep on the way there, but it’s good for them to just look around and smell and see all the diferent produce, people…It’s nice that we are able to walk to a farmers market in the city.

Big Basin State Park

A few days ago we went to Big Basin State Park with the boys. It’s pretty close to San Francisco but we had never been there. We stayed at a camp place with tent/cabins, all very cute. We went for some walks around the site and visit the Big Basin Park. The weather was great…here are some pix.

Last weekend there was the SF Lindy Exchange. Since we don’t have a babysitter, we didn’t dance as much as we would have liked to, but we did go to some of the day events. Our friends like to hold F and T and they seem to like it :-) Calle as always, the best entertainer…

Matteson reunion 2008

Here are finally some of the pictures from the Matteson reunion last week in Bainbridge Island. It was great to see Finian and Teo surrounded by all the family, being taken from someones arms to the others. Thanks so much to all of you, we had a really great time!

Wipigaki

Wipigaki 2008

Last week we went to Wipigaki to spend the 4th of July. Wipigaki is located in North Winsconsin and the Donnelley family has a cabin that they share during the summer. This week we were there with Owen’s dad and his brothers and sisters, and they helped us with the babies so we could go for swims and take naps. The trip there, about 9 hours between the car and planes, went great and the babies slept through it almost the whole time.

Doctor’s visit

Tots dos nens estan molt be i van creixent molt be i aixo fa que els pares estiguin molt contents.

On monday we went to the doctor. Since we had the car being fixed (a whole story in itself…) we had to go to the doctor’s office walking. Luckly it isn’t too far (20 min) but bad luck, we had the visit at 3pm on one of the hottest days of the year. But we all survived…

Both boys are doing very well, and growing very well, which makes the parents very happy. I’ll add the new numbers on weight and height to the table.

3 months Bday in Occidental

Vam comprar moolta roba, gairebe tot a $1 o $2.

Yesterday we celebrated Teo and Finian’s 3 months and we went to Occidental to see Daidie. Before that we stoped to buy some second hand clothes from other parents of twins. We bought a lot of clothes, most of it for $1 or $2. It was a beautiful day and Owen and I were able to relax for a few moments at the hamac while Noni was taking care of the babies.

A night with Loosechange

Last friday we celebrated Sandy and Anna Marie’s birthday, and we brought Fin and Teo with us. They both were so good, Teo slept almost the whole time and Finian was awake making cute faces and smiles for everyone. We had a feeding for each one and a poop for Teo, success!!!

Yesterday we went for a short walk around our neighborhood. They are now starting to look farther than just our faces and they look all over the place.

El Teo i jo a Castro

Today Teo and I have gone for a walk at the Castro neighborhood. We have gone to the post office, the hardware store and have bought peaches and apples. Teo has been a very good boy, although he has only been awake on the way down, about 5-10 minutes ;-) Tomorrow I’ll try to go for a walk with Fin.

A walk in Marin

He afegit algunes fotos que vam fer despres a casa.

Yesterday we went for a walk in Marin, a new trail that we haven’t done before. Since the weather was nice we took F & T out of the slings so they could enjoy of the sun as well. Coming back there was a lot of traffic (memorial day) and in the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge they both started crying. Luckly I am the “walking food” and I fed them as soon as we were able to stop. I have added a few pictures we took afterwards at home.

Bay to Breakers

Today we’ve gone to watch the end of Bay to Breakers, and to eat at the park. Maybe when Finian and Teo are older we can run it…or walk it. Here is a little of history of the race:

At 5:13am on April 18, 1906, a devastating earthquake – that would become one of history’s most notorious natural disasters – rocked San Francisco. The subsequent fire and destruction were unimaginable, and many feared the City would be gone forever. But San Franciscans, displaying their typical fortitude and innovation, immediately began rebuilding the city and producing events to lift their morale. One of those events, the Cross City Race – known better today as ING Bay to Breakers – was first run in 1912 as a precursor to the world-class athletic events planned for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition. There were less than 200 participants that first year and Robert Jackson Vlught was the first person to ever cross the finish line, with a finishing time of 44:10.

It is the longest consecutively running footrace in the world (other races’ courses and lengths have changed over time). During World War II participation sometimes slipped below 50 registrants, but the tradition carried on and the race held the Guinness World Record for the highest participation footrace with nearly 110,000 runners from 1986 to 1994 when it lost it against the Cursa of Barcelona.

In the true spirit of San Francisco the race is a celebration for everyone. Thousands of costumed participants join with families, weekend runners and people just out for a stroll. As they make their way through the heart of San Francisco they are cheered by thousands of spectators and live music along the course. They also have to dodge the “spawning salmon” who each year make their way from the Finish line, through the masses, to the Start.

The route is typically dotted with various local bands performing. At the end of the race is “Footstock”, a gathering where participants and spectators can enjoy musical performances by various musical acts.

Happy Birthday Zain!!!

Happy BirthdayLast Friday we went to Palo Alto (the farthest Fin and Teo have been) to celebrate Zain’s birthdate. They behaved so well, they were sleeping most of the time, and were fed in the car also for the first time. Yey!

Zain, here at home we celebrated your birthday, here are some pictures. Nice outfits, eh??? ;-) The pictures of the dinner are little dark, but oh well…

Claudine and Danny’s wedding

Yesterday Teo and Finian went to Claudine’s (dancer in Loosechange) and Danny, in Tilden Park. They were really good, and at the end they went to Daidie’s house so Owen and I were able to dance until the end of the party.
