Well, finally we have a vegetable garden! It has taken us more than 6 months, but we now are planting lettuces, carrots, kale, chives, mint, squash… among some flowers. We will see what happens! Anyone has ideas on how to repel cats? There is one that has sat on our bed twice already… ;-( Will keep posting updates on the vegetables.

Walk at Lands End, we can finally walk with the boys for good amount of time, and the best is that they love it! From time to time we still need to carry them in steep hills, but they can walk most of it.

Well, finally I get to post the pictures from Halloween. We celebrated it at school twice, once on the weekend and then on monday, we had a small walk around the block. Guess what they dressed up as… frogs!

We are lucky to be at a school that is right next to a beach (Ocean Beach). We only need to cross one street and we are there. Fin and Teo always want to go there. When we started school we would meet with some of the school parents and children, but now that it’s colder, we are just by ourselves. What a treat to have such a wonderful space so close!

Daddy would want to open it
Published October 11, 2011 Uncategorized Leave a CommentTags: dia a dia
We got a new vacuum cleaner, and the mail man brought it today. They wanted to open it right away (think big box) and I didn’t want the big mess right before we left. I said, let’s wait until daddy gets here. Fin just said: “I think daddy would want us to open it now.”
This is a post I should have done a couple of months ago… here it goes!
Our CSA (Eatwell) organizes from time to time outings for the members, one of them is straweberry picking which we went this year with the boys. They didn’t taste ANY strawberry, but had a lot of fun picking them. Afterwards we got to see the rest of the fields, tractors and even the house the owners are building, made out of earth. We got back home with plenty of strawberries for us and our neighbors…

We just came back from spending a wonderful weekend with family in Point Reyes, to celebrate the boys 3rd birthday. It was really beautiful (very cold), but we had a very nice time. Fin keeps on saying he is 5 years old, but only shows three fingers, very cute. I’ll try to post the video of it soon.

Ha estat molt be.

Owen is away to Chicago for one night and I got the boys these two silk clothes, which they loved. I took pictures of them wearing them and playing for daddy to see. See you soon daddy!

Now that we have moved to Berkeley and Elliott is not home, the boys will miss the pancakes and the burritos… I guess we will have to go see him often.
Outdoor Learning class
Published May 26, 2010 24-27 months , fotos , outings/sortides , Uncategorized Leave a CommentThe last three weeks we have been going to the Outdoor Learning class at the Discovery Museum in Sausalito, and the boys have been able to observe closely squirmy worms, little crabs, geese swimming in the beach, “paint” the trees, water the plants,…. lots of fun! Here are the pictures.
We went to the Occidental Fool’s parade with Noni, and we got to go up on the cool motorized “lunapillar”, dance to the band that played at the parade, and dress up with some pretty silly costumes. Afterwards we went to visit Bob, and we got to see the geese, the beautiful vegetable garden and the cat and the dog (Oscar?). His wife gave us swedish books for Catrine, which was very happy to get for Bianca. It was the first time the boys were comfortable around dogs and cats, finally! Oh, and we went back home with a bag full of lemons that the boys helped pick up, yum yum yum! Thanks Bob for a great afternoon at your place!
Glen Park with the playgroup
Published April 25, 2010 24-27 months , fotos , friends , outings/sortides , Uncategorized Leave a CommentA few weeks ago we went to Glen Park with the playgroup. Katya prepared a fun game for the kids where they had to look for different things in the park and put them in the bag. Trevor, Fin and Teo were super excited about it. Lexi was just looking super cool with her rain jacket and enjoying the little stroller. After playing in the sand some of us went to cross the little river, exciting! Not very many opportunities to use the rain boots here.
Fin and Teo LOVE to talk with Avi (grandfather) and Iaia (grandmother) on skype. They both sit in front of the computer and start to show things to my parents. Recently my parents have even been able to start reading them a book, pretty amazing! I just hope technology get just a little bit better so sound and image are a little better, so it can really be like being right there. Anyways, while we wait for them to come here (in amonth, yey!), the boys love to talk (because now they really can say a lot of things) with avi and iaia.
It has rained a lot lateley and we have had to stay at home a lot, so one of the thing we have been doing is dressing up in all sorts of customs. What they like the best i the sun glasses.
Swedish breakfast, Rock’n Roll!
Published December 16, 2009 21-24 months , fotos , friends , outings/sortides , Uncategorized , videos Leave a CommentAnna Marie Panlilio is a friend of ours who takes amazingly beautiful pictures of dancers jumping around. A few weeks ago we met with her at a studio and she took these awesome pics of us. She has a lot more incredible photos on her site, check it out. http://www.annamarie.me/ Thanks Anna Marie, it was a lot of fun!

When Teo broke his leg, Noni gave to the boys two little piggies, one of them with a wraped leg, like Teo’s. She also made a card with pictures of people with casts on and she herself wrapped her leg as if she had a broken leg too. What a great grandma Fin and Teo have!!!
it seems like we will have to freeze the boys at night so we can have some rest… just kiding
See this article
There is some traffic lately at our house. This is one thing they love, drag pillows all over the house. Up and down the house, over, and over. So much fun!
Ultimament hi ha molt the trafic a casa. Divertidissim!
I’ve never been as rested and calm with the two boys feeding. They move so much, this position would be impossible with Fin and Teo. Also, where is the feeding pillow? those arms must be strong..

Ara som a Forest Lodge, a Cable, Wisconsin.
Ara ja diuen mes paraules: Noni (nene), Bubbles (babu), boat (bo), door (do), aigua o water (aua o wawa), duck (da), calent (au!), boom!, wow!, no!
Quan tornem del viatge ja penjare fotos.
Now we are in Forest Lodge in Cable, Wisconsin. We are in the Matteson family reunion. Teo is doing great. He walks most of the time by himself (in the cast). Finian imitates Teo’s walk, jumping on one foot, if I can I’ll post a video of it because it is really funny.
Now the say more words: Noni (nene), Bubbles (babu), boat (bo), door (do), aigua o water (aua o wawa), duck (da), hot (au!), boom!, wow!, no!

Here is the “card” we gave Owen for father’s day. The boys and I made it with crayons. They are getting so good at it!

The boys are learning how to go down the stairs. Here you can see the progress.
Finian has been trying to get to the flour can for a long time… well… he finally did it!

My parents have been here for a week. They have taken F and T to the park, museums, walks… They have changed a lot since last time they saw each other! Here are some pictures.

FELICITATS!!!
Marti and Berta have told us that will be getting married this July, so we have celebrated it from here in San Francisco. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

This is a recipe I found on the internet and both boys love it!!! I recommend it to everyone, is easy to make and so good!
http://weelicious.com/2009/04/20/broccol-wee-soup/
Broccol-Wee Soup
We’re big fans of soup in this house — and I mean all of us. I love anything with vegetables, Kenya thinks drinking soup out of a cup is a blast and my husband is into anything that’s healthy and keeps his waistline in check. Therefore, this recipe for broccoli soup fits the bill for all of us. You can even serve it to a 10-12 month old if you leave out the lemon juice.
Broccoli should be a regular food in everyone’s diet because it’s a super veggie. It’s packed with vitamins A and C, calcium and soluble fiber plus it’s available year round. Even for kids that turn their noses up at vegetables, broccoli is one you can usually get them to eat because of it’s mild flavor. I usually make a big batch of this soup because I like to freeze a few servings to have for another day. The only trouble is that it’s usually gone before it ever makes it to the freezer!
Broccoli Soup (6-8 Servings)
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Small Onion, chopped
1 Tsp Salt
1 Large Potato, peeled and chopped into a small dice
1 Pound Broccoli (about 2 cups), use florets and stems (stems peeled
and chopped)
4 Cups (1 32 Oz Box) Chicken or Vegetable Stock
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Yogurt, Creme Fraiche or Sour Cream for garnish.
1. In a large stock heat the olive oil and saute the onion and salt for 5-7 minutes over low to medium heat.
2. Add the potatoes, broccoli and stock and bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer.
3. Cook uncovered for 12-15 minutes or until broccoli and potatoes are
fork tender.
4. Pour into a blender and puree.
5. Serve garnished with yogurt, creme fraiche or sour cream.
It’s been really warm this last past days, so we have been able to put the boys naked out at the deck and use Marta’s inflatable pool. So much fun!

After doing three steps a few weeks ago, Teo stopped practicing for a few weeks. But yesterday he started again and it seems that now is for real. Finian was so happy that he took him from the arm and they walked a bit together… it was so cute…
Last weekend we went to the Occidental Fools Parade. Occidental is so pretty at this time of the year, it is getting warm so soon we will be able to go to the pond! The boys enjoyed being carried in the wagon and playing at the sand box at OAEC. I think they will have a great time in Occidental as they grow up.

Moriah gave the boys the best pants, hand made pants! And on top of that the presents came with a catalan note, saying Moltes Felicitats! what a present! Here is a picture of them wearing them this morning.
THANKS MORIAH!!!
GRACIES MORIAH!!!
It’s been a year, incredible…
(ho volia traduir tot, pero m’ha sortit massa llarg, i ara no tinc temps)
So, let’s think what are they doing now:
-Standing up by themselves
-they can do 1 step and then go down to the floor, no walking yet
-favorite food: rice cereal with spinach or egg yolk, yogurt with banana, bread with olive oil, rice cakes,
-other food they eat: applesauce, yems, chicken, fish, lentils (once),cheerios, tofu,
-Teo piles up the food in his mouth and chews it all day
-they don’t say very much yet: ma-ma-ma, ba-ba-ba, da-da-da…
-Teo loves to talk and imitate sounds
-they can do the: Soooo big with the arms
-they hate us when we try to put their shirts on
-the only way to change their diapers now is with them standing up… a little bit tricky
-favorite song: Oh, my, I want a piece of pie…(sang by uncle Elliott)
-when they get excited they rock on their knees back and forth
-they are starting to get the idea of things in and out of a pot or box
-they give you things and sort of throw balls to you
-they have 6 teeth each (4 top, 2 lower)
-they adore uncle elliott and Noni, they get super excited every time they see them
-at the swing they laugh a lot
-if there’s music on, they will DANCE!!!
-they like to be carried on the slings (ergo) and now they are starting to be ok on the stroller
-they are starting to get fightsty (sp?) when one is fed (breast) and the other one has to wait
-they like to cuddle with each other although sometimes cuddle becomes biting and then we have to put them apart
I might add more things when I remember them
What a day looks like (obviously every day is different, but generally it looks like this):
get up at 6am or 7am. eat something sometimes (not always) like bread, rice cereal, cheerios…not very much.they play in the kitchen or office, pots and pans, toys…
8.30am or 9am: to the breast and take a nap for 1 or 2 hours (if we are lucky)
11am take some lunch: yogurt with banana or rice cereal with spinach. then play around the house, living room, walker, uncle elliott here and there
2pm: to the breast and take a nap for 45min to 1 hour
3pm: snack: bread, cheerios, squash, yogurt, teething biscuit…Then we go for a walk, either around the neighborhood (which usually means going to the playground, swings) or to the Golden Gate Park for a longer walk with slings and/or stroller
5pm-6pm: dinner: chicken soup, rice cereal with veggies, bread
7pm: bed time, we go to our room, lights down, classical music and read or cuddle there for about an hour. Breastfeed once or twice until they are asleep, usually 8pm.
AND….you would think that here is the end of the day, but it’s not…
8pm-11pm: they wake up once or twice each one, we hold them, put them under the fan at the kitchen until they fall asleep
11pm-6am: breastfeed them whenever they wake up (between one to three times each one)
Swing/Gronxador
I have posted a video of Teo and Fin at the swing. They love it…

Teo has been washing all the floors and shelves with the socks or hats he finds on the way…

Finian has been filing Owen’s files for the past few weeks…

A few pictures of last weekend. Recently I have been pretty busy and haven’t had any time to write. The boys are getting to be little real people, they crawl around the house so fast, and open all the drawers they can. I’ll try to post some video soon. (blue=Teo, orange=Finian)
Algunes fotos del cap de setmana passat. Ultimament he estat molt liada i no he tingut temps per escriure. Intentare penjar algun video d’aqui a poc. (blau=Teo, taronja=Finian)

…and 2 days later here comes Finian!
…i dos dies despres arriba el Finian!
